STATISTICS

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of Statistics established in 2006, has dedicated two decades to fostering analytical excellence and data-driven reasoning. Initially founded to provide students with a robust foundation in Statistics (General), the department has evolved alongside the rapidly shifting landscape of data science and global analytics. Our mission is to bridge the gap between theoretical mathematical frameworks and practical, real-world applications, ensuring our graduates are equipped to handle the complexities of modern data.

The department prides itself on a learner-centric environment where students transition from basic probability concepts to advanced inferential modelling. With a legacy rooted in academic rigor, we continue to support students across various disciplines, emphasizing the critical role of statistical literacy in today’s information age.

Academic Offerings (Undergraduate)

Following the latest academic frameworks for both 3-year and 4-year BA/B.Sc. programs, the department offers specialized tracks designed to complement a variety of major disciplines.
