CORE FEATURES

  • At the time of inception, the college was mainly an Arts college. In course of time, the college opened Science streams in the year 1966. The Department of Geography started its journey with General course since the year 1966 and with Honours degree since 1981. The department started to offer the Post Graduate (M.Sc. in Geography) course since 2015.
  • We acknowledge the dedication and endeavour of Prof. Niyoti Roy and Dr. Debika Roy, who served this Department since the early days of this Department and served for more than 28 years and 33 years respectively.
  • Several eminent teachers were responsible for the growth and development of this department as it has reached to its present position.
  • Name of some teachers were Dr. Debika Roy, Prof. Niyoti Roy, Prof. Abanti Routh, Prof. Yudhisthir Hazra, Prof. Rina Das. We also acknowledge one of the Alumni of this college and departmental Lab Instructor, Mrs. Bandana Pal for her dedication and contribution of the progress of this department.
